Veteran to Entrepreneur: A Forum and Resource Fair

Wednesday, September 4, 2019 - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
MAPS Air Museum 2260 International Pkwy
North Canton, OH 44720

Register for a special forum for veteran entrepreneurs via Eventbrite here.

Veterans are leaders who achieve success in the business world. I am hosting a Veterans’ Resource Tour event at MAPS Air Museum at 2260 International Parkway, North Canton on September 4 from 10:00 – 2:00 p.m. to bring business startup and growth resources to you.

The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with a forum to help you discover how you can use Small Business Administration loan programs, veteran services and procurement programs to start or grow your business. This is where you can get an overview of available business programs, procurement assistance, financial assistance and technical assistance from panels of lenders and veteran business owners. To attend this part of the event, please register via Eventbrite here.

At 2:00 p.m. the larger Veteran Resource Fair will begin to allow participants to speak with our panelists and additional business vendors. This is also where you will find resources to answer your questions about earned benefits and assist you with VA compensation claims and applying for VA health benefits. The Stark County Veterans’ Service Commission will also be present to assist you with county and state benefits. No pre-registration is needed to attend this part of the event.

Navigating veterans benefits can too often be a maze of paperwork and unknown opportunities. My Veterans Resource Tour seeks to streamline this process by bringing commonly needed resources together at one event to help guide veterans through the process. At this event, veterans can learn about and sign up for local, state and federal benefits. If a veteran needs their DD-214, service medals, service treatment records, personnel file, or a copy of their VBA file, my staff will be on hand to assist in filing these requests. They will also be registering veterans to have their stories preserved through the Library of Congress’ Veterans’ History Project.

Questions regarding veteran benefits and the North Canton stop of my Veterans Resource Tour can be directed to my Veterans Coordinator Bryan Bowman via email at bryan.bowman@mail.house.gov or via phone at 330-941-5001.
