Rhonda Wurgler

Rhonda believes that every child has a right to a happy childhood, and especially one without abuse. Throughout her career, Rhonda has worked to achieve that goal, from her early days working as a Deputy Sheriff, to her current position as Executive Director of the Children’s Center of Medina County, whose mission it is to reduce trauma by providing a pathway to healing for children and families impacted by abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Rhonda has been instrumental in launching and guiding the Center to become a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center and helping it to expand to a new building allowing for more children and families to receive essential services.

Rhonda is also founder and convener of Medina County Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and Co-Chair and founder of the Trauma Informed Care Consortium through Medina County Family First Council. Appointed by the Commissioners, Rhonda recently served on the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund Northeast Ohio Regional Child Abuse Prevention Council. She is currently a Board of Education Member for Cloverleaf Local Schools, Board Member for Leadership Medina County and is a member of the Medina County Family First Council. In addition, Rhonda’s current list of community organizations with which she is involved includes, 100 Plus Women Who Care, Medina Evening Kiwanis, and Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio. In her free time, Rhonda enjoys family time with her husband and son, as well as music, hiking, golf, biking, and movies.
